They derive pleasure from seeing and inflicting ponies suffering and death, and see themselves as better than earth ponies and others. Throughout the majority of the series, theDNA Alicorns are portrayed as clearly evil characters, but zack learns  they are each revealed to be very layered, complex individuals capable of love, grief, guilt and despair.most of them have cat-like slits for pupils, pointed teeth,and a pale or black or red coat. shadow is extremely aggressive and cold-blooded.Shadows is more of a tactical fighter who often rushes in the brawl without hesitation. However, his rage or arrogance usually causes him to underestimate his opponent. His alicorn  blood and intense fighting style with a zweihander has both benefited and harmed him in many battles.
